Catching Up

Hey everyone! I've been up to a lot since my last post. I was out of town all last week and now that I'm back I feel more focused and ready to dedicate more time to my blog.

Last week I was in Charleston for Fashion Week! I applied back in January and got the call on my birthday two weeks ago that I got it! I was basically assisting the production team with everything and anything. From working the vip style lounge, making/transporting swag bags, working with the designers and local retailers and the pop-up events, seating, etc. My job was to be helpful for anyone that needed me. In-between working,  I was able to network with so many amazing people. It was such an incredible experience and definitely helped me pinpoint exactly what it is that I want to do with my life (hooray)! Here are a few pictures from the week

I had the opportunity to hear Zoe Damacela speak, and she is truly an inspiration. By day she's a sophomore in college, and in her free time she's a fashion designer (her mentors include Oprah Winfrey and Tyra Banks)! She was homeless growing up and constantly teased in school for not wearing the current fashion trends. Zoe began designing clothing as a hobby and her first dress sold for $13. Today her clothing sells as little as $350! She was so empowering and definitely illustrates that anything is possible.

The tents set up and ready to go!

Unfortunately, one of the rules of working fashion week is that we are not allowed to take any kind of photography during the show since professionals are contracted to take care of that. I wasn't able to get pictures of my personal favorites, but you can check out pictures from the week Here.

                                                                       Happy Tuesday!

I'm so jealous that you got to do that! How'd you find out about it? I'd love to do something like that!
